Dimwen is You. Dimwen is I. Dimwen is Us.
There comes a time in the life of every people when they must decide whether they will remain divided by distance, politics, generations, and borders—or unite around a shared identity, a common purpose, and a vision for the future.
For Haitians around the world, that time is now.
That is why Dimwen was created.
Dimwen is more than a website.
Dimwen is more than a social network.
Dimwen is more than a news platform.
Dimwen is a movement.
It is a digital homeland where every Haitian, regardless of where they were born or where they live today, has a place to belong.
What Is Dimwen?
The word Dimwen comes from the Haitian Creole expression “Di Mwen”, meaning “Tell Me.”
But its meaning reaches far beyond those two simple words.
It is an invitation.
Tell me your story.
Tell me your dreams.
Tell me your struggles.
Tell me your successes.
Tell me about our history.
Tell me about our future.
Tell me about Haiti.
Every Haitian has a voice.
Every Haitian has a story worth telling.
Every Haitian deserves to be heard.
Dimwen exists to make that possible.
Why Dimwen?
For generations, Haitians have been scattered across continents.
Today, millions of Haitians live throughout:
- North America
- Europe
- South America
- The Caribbean
- Africa
- Asia
- Australia
Despite the distance, one thing remains constant:
We are one people.
Unfortunately, many of us remain disconnected from one another.
We often rely on foreign media to tell our stories.
Others define who we are.
Others write our history.
Others shape the world’s opinion of Haiti.
Dimwen believes that Haitians should tell Haiti’s story.
Who better to speak for Haiti than Haitians themselves?
